Seminary is a worldwide, four-year religious educational program for youth ages 14 through 18. It is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but is open to teenagers of all faiths. Put simply, one does not have to go to seminary to be a faithful pastor. After all, seminary training—as we know it today—is not explicitly in the Bible. There have been faithful pastors for centuries who had no formal training. For many throughout church history, such training was simply not an option.

Seminary is for students who want to pursue a career in ministry. Bible colleges typically offer students a bible-centered education, without training them for specific vocations.
