Although Singapore is a year-round destination, the best time to visit Singapore is from December to June. However, if you wish to avoid any crowds flocking the places, the best time to visit Singapore is from July to November.

April is the warmest month, January is the coolest month and November is the wettest month. Singapore lies between Malaysia and Indonesia, with a total area of 693 sq km and a coastline of 193 km. It consists of one main island and several other surrounding islets.

While Singapore is technically in the northern hemisphere – which means it’s technically winter in December – our proximity to the equator (only around 130km), means you don’t really get any sense of the four distinct seasons. Instead, the weather is dictated by monsoon systems.

Average monthly temperatures vary by 2.2 °C (4°F) less in Singapore. The altitude of the sun at midday is overall 2.7° higher in Singapore than in Manila, Luzon. Relative humidity levels are 6.6% higher. The mean dew point temperature is 0.5°C (1°F) higher.

Generally, there is much more rainfall on the western side of the island than on the eastern portion of Singapore, owing to a rain shadow effect. Thus, the eastern side of Singapore is much drier and slightly hotter than western Singapore.

Seasons

The average sliding 31-day rainfall during November in Singapore is rapidly increasing, starting the month at 8.2 inches, when it rarely exceeds 12.4 inches or falls below 4.2 inches, and ending the month at 9.7 inches, when it rarely exceeds 14.5 inches or falls below 5.6 inches.

Singapore does not have a winter season, and the coldest months are December, January, and February. The temperatures range from 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius). The temperatures are too high for snow formation; therefore, it does not snow in Singapore.

Singapore has two main monsoon seasons, the Northeast Monsoon season (December to March) and the Southwest Monsoon season (June to September). Separating these two monsoon seasons are relatively short inter-monsoon periods (April to May and October to November).
