It’s fairly easy to make your own paper clay. As a general rule, if you’re making a lighter piece of work, then you will add less paper. When making a heavier piece, you’ll want to add more.

It is recommended that you bisque fire the paper clay prior to the application of Design Colours, Cesco Underglazes and Wunder Colours. The bisque firing temperature should be at least 1050°C. All our paper clays can be thrown, turned, hand built and dried very easily.

White clay will display paint best. Choose acrylic or tempera paints to color your clay. These kinds of paints are best for painting air dry clay, but you can also use poster paint or even nail polish if you want.

Bake It! The fastest and most effective way to dry Creative Paperclay (and it can be applied to similar clays, such as La Doll), is actually to bake it in a standard oven. Game changer. Creative Paperclay is non-toxic, and unlike polymer clay, it does not generate fumes as it’s baked.

Air-dry clay is very good for that! Actually, most of the detailing I do is by carving. The clay can get crumbly, because of the paper fibres, if you’re carving with a blunt scalpel. One of my favourite way is to wet the surface a little bit and then carve with a needle or any other tool.

Polymer Clay
1. Polyform Polymer Clay. Polyform’s polymer clay is the original oven-bake clay. Available in a 1.75 pound pack, this white Sculpey clay is super soft and pliable and won’t dry out even when exposed to air for extended periods of time.

You can use white crafts glue, like Mod Podge, to Seal your Air-Dry Clay but then your clay will not be waterproof and Mod Podge will yellow eventually if it is exposed to the sun regularly. Use Varnish, Acrylic Sealer or liquid epoxy resin to seal your Clay if you want it to be Waterproof.

Drying Paperclay® – Small items will generally dry in a day or so depending on room temperature and humidity. Larger projects may take a few days to completely dry. If you’re in a hurry, you may put your unpainted projects in a 250 degree oven for 30 minutes or until dry. 7.

What is the difference between paper mache and paper clay? Paper mache usually refers to layering paper strips dipped in glue or paper mache paste over a mold or structure. Paper clay (aka paper mache clay) is a mixture of paper pulp with a few simple ingredients like flour or glue.

Making Paper Clay Gather your supplies. Remove the toilet paper from the roll. Fill the bowl with water. Squeeze out the toilet paper and place the pulp in a separate bowl. Measure 1 1/2 cups of toilet paper pulp. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix up the clay until smooth.

Extra-Strength Clay. Paper clay is made by mixing regular clay with paper pulp.

Paper clay ceramic is a user and eco-friendly water based affordable modeling media made of clay blended with cellulose fiber from paper pulp, recyled paper pulp when possible. To get the a high performance result the right and special balance between paper pulp and pottery clay is needed.

WHAT IS ART CLAY. Art Clay is an Art Medium consisting of very small particles of metal such as silver, gold or copper. Mixed with an organic binder and water for use in making jewelry, beads and small sculptures. After drying, the clay can be fired in a kiln or by using a hand held gas torch.
