Even after dark, most areas a visitor would likely find themselves in are safe with normal precautions. At night, use common sense.

There are no real dangerous areas in Seattle, but Downtown can get a bit sketchy after dark. If you’re travelling alone, avoid walking around in the Downtown district and just take a taxi to get back to your accommodation.

Mornings before 12 pm are generally less crowded. Our less-visited times are late fall, winter and early spring, other than holidays. During peak summer months, weekday mornings are optimal times to visit.

Pike Place Market

Of course you must visit the iconic market when in Seattle but be prepared for overcrowding and inflated prices. It will cost you hundreds of dollars if you purchase one of the “flying” fish, for example. Enjoy the show and the people watching bit buy elsewhere!

General Market hours are from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Some restaurants offering takeout and delivery stay open until midnight. The Market is open 363 days a year, closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

General Space Needle tickets range in price from $24.50 to $37.50, depending on age, when you buy, and whether you are buying tickets for seniors or children. Tickets are available online, at the Space Needle itself and as part of a few different package deals, if you’re looking to get more bang for your buck.
