While Doctor Strange took us to some very, well, strange places, it was actually Ant-Man which first explored a different side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When Scott Lang shrunk down in order to stop Yellowjacket, he was transported to the Quantum Realm, the same place it’s thought Janet Van Dyne is trapped.

We know from the mid-credits scene that Janet did not permanently stabilize her — Ant-Man goes into the quantum realm to collect “healing particles” to help Ghost — so presumably she still has her abilities to some degree, just without the imminent threat of whatever was going to happen to her when she became totally …

The Quantum Realm is an amalgamation of two different dimension from the comics: the Quantum Zone, the realm where all the energy of the universe come from, and the Microverse, which consists of many different sub-atomic dimensions all accessible through the same means as they are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fun movie, but may be too intense for younger kids. Great action, lots of style, some iffy stuff.

More of Marvel’s characters have won in more categories, but DC’s victors far outshine their competition. No one from the Marvel Universe or the DC Universe compares to Superman, whereas Iron Man and Hawkeye just barely edge out their rivals. Still, we’d say that Marvel has stronger characters for now.
