Yes you can do it all in one day. I would do the incline railway first, then ruby falls and end with rock city. I would allow an hour to hour and a half for each.

No, the park itself is free. You can drive up the mountain. It is the Lookout Mountain railway that charges, as does Rock City, but the battlefield and museum/gift shops there are open to the public at no cost.

After visiting Rock City several times with my family over the years, I can tell you with certainty that the ticket price is worth it, no matter the season. Located atop Lookout Mountain just outside of Chattanooga, I’m convinced Rock City is one of the most beautiful and picture-worthy places in the US.

Technically, yes, there is a way around Fat Man’s Squeeze, but if you bypass it, you’ll miss a good portion of the enchanted trail, as you cannot get to some of the areas of the trail without going through the squeeze. There are technically two “squeeze” areas of Rock City’s Enchanted trail.

Unfortunately, the Incline Railway does not take you to Rock City. You will need to drive from that attraction to get to us, but we are only about 5 minutes away. The entrance to Rock City is about a 10-15 minute drive from the Incline Railway – closer to Ruby Falls.

We rode the railway up and Uber-ed down. The ride isn’t so bad until you hit the last hundred feet or so, then you are almost vertical. This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
