If you stay in the Old Market area, you’ll be OK, there is a lot of activity there and a pretty good police presence. Early in the night it isn’t bad at the Heartland of America Park and Gene Leahy Mall but later in the night it is known to get homeless people, panhandlers and sometimes vandals.

What time does old town open? The Old Market area is basically located in downtown Omaha. It consist of a variety of stores, restaurants and some lodging. The stores open at 9 am or 10 am.

The boundaries are Omaha’s 20th Street on the west to the Missouri River on the east and the centerline of Leavenworth Street on the south to the centerline of Chicago Street on the north, also including the CHI Health Center Omaha….
