During an interview for his new movie The Courier, Benedict Cumberbatch suggested that he’d be interested in returning to the character of Sherlock, but that it likely wouldn’t happen anytime soon.

That’s right, in the Enola Holmes books, released between 2006 and 2010, the young detective doesn’t end up marrying anyone.

So, to tease him and kill the last fringe of hope he would have about defeating him, Moriarty killed himself. Doing so, he made it impossible for Sherlock to manipulate him into calling off the snipers in any other way.

221B takes a massive hit, but John, Sherlock, and Mycroft survive, the former two by jumping out the window and Mycroft by hurtling downstairs. All three of them show up completely unharmed a few quick wacky scenes later (there are pirates involved; it doesn’t make a lot of sense), resurfacing at Sherrinford.

Auguste Lupa is a fictional character in two pastiche novels by author John Lescroart. Lupa, a secret agent during the First World War, is the son of Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler. It is strongly implied that he is the younger version of fictional detective Nero Wolfe in the mystery series by Rex Stout.

The Enola Holmes Mysteries is a young adult fiction series of detective novels by American author Nancy Springer, starring Enola Holmes as the 14-year-old sister of an already-famous Sherlock Holmes, twenty years her senior.

The $20 million flick opened with $31 million and legged out to $100 million domestic and $216 million worldwide. It was one of Diaz’s last commercial hits, coming just after The Green Hornet ($226 million on a $110 million budget) and just before The Other Woman ($195 million on a $40 million budget).
