The launch of the PS5-exclusive title Stellar Blade earlier this year has put Shift Up on the map. The hard-hitting action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic setting follows the story of Eva as she tries to reclaim the planet from deadly creatures.
In addition to bringing its worlds and mythos, the game pays homage to tons of franchises through its tons of Easter eggs and references. One of these directly references the popular game NieR Automata, and players believe it is something more mysterious.
After its debut in 2017, NieR Automata managed to become a fan-favorite hit, which saw the release of multiple versions of the game and further collaborations with other IPs and franchises in the gaming landscape.
