Elizabeth Olsen's first mainstream role also prepared her for something that gave her an edge in her decade-long Marvel role
If the Avengers held open trials
Elizabeth Olsen is known to the Marvel fandom as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, who first appeared in a closing scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014. Since then, she has appeared in five films and a miniseries in the franchise. But acting in Avengers: Age of Ultron wasn't the first time she reacted to a lot of nothing.
Interestingly, her first major feature with massive CGI effects was Godzilla, the movie that kick-started the Monsterverse. Olsen's jump to the 2014 film was a pretty big step up as she starred in some pretty impressive indie films before the transition. She rose to prominence with roles in Martha Marcy May Marlene, Kill Your Darlings, Silent House and Oldboy.
After her small cameo in The Winter Soldier, Elizabeth Olsen got her big introduction in the CGI-heavy Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, it was not her first major production after gaining some eyeballs with her performance in indie films. Legendary Pictures first cast her as the female lead in their Godzilla reboot project.
