The reason he took Uncharted out of his mind was largely due to some business decisions he had to make given the growing appeal of the franchise. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the last game in the series that featured video game action hero Nathan Drake.

Neil Druckmann's involvement with Uncharted goes way back. He has worked as a game designer and co-writer for the first two Uncharted games before making his debut for The Last of Us.
