Masashi Kishimoto's idea for a Naruto spin-off series could be better than Boruto.

One of the main reasons why Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto works so well in sync with the protagonist is because it is told from his perspective. While there are other stories and narratives, most of the main components of the story are created from Naruto's point of view, making the manga series empathetic to the fans.

However, this does not change the fact that Naruto has a series of characters that could have done an even better job as the main character of the series. Whether it's Kakashi Hatake or Itachi Uchiha, these characters have certainly proven themselves worthy of a personal story of their own, and it would work perfectly as a Naruto spin-off.

Kishimoto himself once accepted the fact that if the story is told from a different perspective, it would work brilliantly and open up new possibilities in the Narutoverse. He even gave an example of what the plot would look like if told from Jiraiya's point of view.
