Showrunner Terry Matalas brought the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast to the spinoff show Star Trek: Picard. The latter show received rave reviews, especially for its last season when it said goodbye to one of the most popular Enterprise teams in the world.

Following his phenomenal run as writer and executive producer of Picard, Matalas will reportedly serve as showrunner on the upcoming MCU show Vision. The show spins off from WandaVision and will follow White Vision after the events of the show. Kevin Feige mentioned that Matala's work on Picard got him the job.

Writer Terry Matalas, who is known for co-creating the show 12 Monkeys and the revival of MacGyver, brought back the Star Trek: The Next Generation role for a new spinoff show. Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn, among others, returned for Star Trek: Picard, which took place twenty years after the film Nemesis.
