Towers are the best way to protect your resources from other players, but they are not that easy to come by.

Collecting resources only makes sense if you can keep them afterwards, and this can be difficult in Longwinter, as other players like to raid your stash. But a few towers on your property can force your rivals to reconsider their actions.
Before you start running around looking for recipe books, you should know that towers cannot be crafted. These items can only be purchased from a certain NPC – a farmer, found in Sgt Lake's outpost. He stands in the middle of a group of three different merchants and wears a straw hat.
Unfortunately, you cannot buy a tower directly. The vendor will only offer them once you have collected at least one of every plant in the game. Only when this is done will you be able to purchase the tower for 15,995 MK.
