The 27-year-old actor can see himself in a horror movie, even if Daredevil isn't there

As Marvel's Daredevil: Born Again wraps production, a murky unknown is the future of another character in the saga's street-level orbit: Echo. Alaqua Cox tells Polygon that she, too, is in the dark; unlike some of her peers who started with Disney Plus shows, Marvel has not mentioned to the 27-year-old actor when or if Maya Lopez will reappear in the MCU.

"I haven't heard anything yet!" Cox said through a sign language interpreter during a recent press day for the Echo. "I'm waiting for them to call me. I'm like, 'Come on. Let's take it forward! I hope I'll be involved in more MCU projects — that would just be amazing.'"

The introduction of the Kingpin's surrogate daughter, who was introduced in Hawkeye and got her own eponymous spinoff in January, was a springboard for a new face not just in the MCU but in a Hollywood that was lacking homegrown icons. When Cox was cast as Echo, the actor, who belongs to the Menominee and Mohican nations, became the first deaf and indigenous superhero.
