The Marvel Cinematic Universe could hit a goldmine of a character should they decide to merge the two eras of Sentry in the upcoming Thunderbolts.

The Sentry was a fun character inserted into Marvel Comics history. The character's short run initially made him so popular that he became an in-universe regular. The character has gone toe to toe with characters like the Hulk and Galactus, making him quite the challenge for the Thunderbolts in their upcoming film.
Given that it has been reported that the character will be greatly diminished, the comics have introduced a concept that allows Sentry to be a manageable threat to the Thunderbolts, while ensuring that he can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Captain Marvel, Thor and Galactus.
During the events of King in Black, Robert Reynolds is killed by Knull, causing his powers to disappear, eventually ending up in six different individuals. While some only gain a few powers from the Sentry, others have the character's full abilities, but at a reduced capacity.
