September 18 has turned out to be one of the darkest days for Rockstar Games, the developer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. It was supposed to be the anniversary of GTA 5's release, but this has turned out to be a nightmare for the next GTA title. An anonymous GTAForums user uploaded more than 90 videos, purportedly showing the gameplay of the upcoming GTA 6. But how reliable is this GTA VI leak and how does it tie in with the previous speculations? Let's find out!

Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that GTA VI would feature two playable characters, one of which will be a woman. According to social media posts, the leaked images show two playable characters with a majority of the game featuring a female character. Additionally, people on Twitter claimed that the footage also showed parts of a city that appeared to be similar to Vice City, GTA's fictional version of Miami. Several leaks have pointed to Vice City making a comeback in recent years, and this leaked footage could be a living proof of the same.

According to sources, some of the clips even have signs and vehicles with the name "Vice City" written on them. They further mentioned that one main clip showed a restaurant being looted followed by a police encounter while another showed some racist dialogues between two characters near a pool.

A variety of users with access to the leak have pointed out that most of the videos in this archive appear to be from the early stages of development as the textures in them are stiff and incomplete. None of the leaked images had any dates mentioned in them. However, several users also mentioned that the GTA 6 alpha gameplay footage overlay has Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card mentioned in it. And since the 3080 came out in 2020, the videos must be from 2020 or later.
