An iconic weapon in the God of War franchise has overstayed its welcome on Kratos' charge and should be retired.

God of War has been one of the stronger first-party franchises under the PlayStation Studios banner, and fans are eager to see where the developers take Kratos next. In each new project, the developers introduce a new weapon, but some suggest that one should be discontinued.

The Leviathan Ax was used by Laufey, better known as Faye or the Guardian, and was given to Kratos after her passing. The weapon quickly became a fan-favorite but the heirloom may not fit in the charge of future projects beyond the Norse saga.

Santa Monica Studio is to be applauded for the great effort put into making Kratos' journey one of growth. Previous games depicted the Ghost of Sparta as the ultimate killing machine and fueled by the blood of his enemies, and apparently his innocent victims from the past.
