Semiconductor giant MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9300+ at the MediaTek Developer Conference 2024 and the SoC banks on its "enhanced" AI capabilities and performance. Here's everything you need to know about the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+.

The Dimensity 9300+ is an octa-core SoC manufactured on TSMC's third-generation 4nm process node. Like the previously announced Dimensity 9300, the 9300+ also features four Cortex-X4 performance cores. But unlike the 9300 where all were clocked at 3.25GHz, only one Cortex-X4 core on the Dimensity 9300+ is clocked at a mighty 3.4GHz.

The rest of the Cortex-X4 cores are clocked at 2.85GHz. In addition, four Cortex-A720 cores are clocked up to 2.0 GHz. In addition, there is now support for LPDDR5T memory that can deliver a massive speed of up to 9600 Mbps. In single-core tasks, the Dimensity 9300+ should perform better as it is clocked much higher than previous chips.

In addition to that, MediaTek claims that the Dimensity 9300+ should deliver better generative AI performance thanks to up to 10% performance boost in the company's new NeuroPilot Speculative Decode Acceleration technology. These APU enhancements can run 7B models at 22 tokens per second. You can run models like Gemini Nano, Llama 2, 3 and more.
