Meta was declared an extremist organization by Russia two years ago after the social media site refused to moderate posts calling for the death of Russian soldiers invading Ukraine. And at the end of last year, Stone was added to Russia's most wanted list.

According to the Russian government-run news agency TASS, on March 11, 2022, Stone posted on his Twitter/X account "a comment advocating aggressive, hostile and violent actions against Russian servicemen participating in the special military operation."

It is the illegal invasion of Ukraine, according to Putin.
