According to IDC, Xiaomi is the second largest wearable manufacturer in the world and the leading wearable manufacturer in India. Now, much of this success, if not all, is due to its Mi Band lineup. The Xiaomi Mi Bands are a huge success in India, and many other countries, because of the value for money they offer, and so new Mi Bands are always super hyped. So ever since Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Band 4 in China, we've been waiting to get our hands on it. That said, if recent news is any indication, the Mi Band 4 will arrive in India without a couple of key features.

So, the Mi Band 4 brings a new AMOLED color display, a bigger battery, more accurate fitness features, voice assistant support and it comes in a regular and an NFC variant, like the Mi Band 3.

Now, in China, Xiaomi uses its own Xiao voice assistant on the Mi Band 4, so I was hoping that the Mi Band 4 would come with Google Assistant in India. However, Xiaomi recently launched the Mi Band 4 in Europe alongside the Mi 9T (a rebranded version of the Redmi K20 Pro) and according to XDA, the Mi Band 4 in Europe lacks the voice assistant feature and NFC. So if the Mi Band 4 in Europe does not come with these features, it is very likely that the Mi Band 4 in India would not have these features.

To be honest, NFC isn't really a big deal but Google Assistant on the Mi Band 4 would have made it a big upgrade over the Mi Band 3, but if it's not there in the Indian variant, it'll be a bummer. That being said, nothing has been confirmed yet, as Xiaomi has not revealed any details about the Indian variant of the Mi Band 4 or the launch date of the Mi Band 4 in India. So I hope Xiaomi brings Mi Band 4 with Google Assistant in India.
