Microsoft just put Pavan Davuluri in charge of the company's Windows and Surface teams, while Windows head Mikhail Parakhin is "exploring new roles."

This, according to a memo we've seen, comes just a week after the Windows giant announced its new AI unit, which will be led by DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleyman. This time on Tuesday, Microsoft announced that Parakhin as well as the GenAI team would report to Suleyman.

But last night, as first reported by The Verge, another mix was announced in a memo from Rajesh Jha, Microsoft's EVP of experiences and devices. According to the memo, which was also sent to The Reg, Parakhin is "now exploring new roles." Jha's missive did not make clear whether those roles would be inside or outside Microsoft.

It's the latest rearrangement of the lounge chairs since the sudden departure of Panos Panay, head of product and VP of devices.
