Ever since Masashi Kishimoto decided to end Naruto, its sequel series by Mikio Ikemoto has been doing its best to reach the same limelight that the original manga basked in. The constant trial and error has not turned out to be good for the series, which makes it unfortunate because to how much lost potential a single series can contain.

Naruto had an essence within it that gave it deep storytelling and enhanced characters. They all had a sense of adaptability in terms of growth and understanding, making them relatable as well as likable characters. On the contrary sat Boruto. The series has its fair share of problems that have made it an unfortunate addition for fans.

Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto were talking during a fan event in France (via X) where the subject of Boruto Two: Blue Vortex came up. They talked about the two leads in the original series and how Naruto and Sasuke acted as rivals. While Boruto and Kawaki have a similar relationship, their roles are necessarily reversed.
