If you think that villages are the only structures that allow villagers to play in Minecraft, you are wrong. They are also resident, or shall we say hostage, in a rather rare snowy building called an igloo. However, this is not always the case due to the randomized layout of the structure. If we've managed to grab your attention, read on as we explain everything you should know about the igloo in Minecraft, from what it is and where it generates to all the loot you can find in one.

What's inside an igloo in Minecraft?

The Igloo is a rare structure that only spawns in three snowy biomes. It consists mostly of snow blocks and two ice blocks. This cozy building also provides you with some very useful early game building blocks such as a bed, oven and crafting table.

In addition, the layout of these blocks is also well thought out. When the player eventually uses the furnace to cook or melt an item, it will produce a sufficient level of light to melt the ice. As the ice melts, it will turn into water, which will flow and flood the interior of the igloo. Because of the water, all the carpet blocks will be washed up and turned into objects, revealing the potential secrets below.

If you're lucky, you'll see a trapdoor underneath where a carpet block was. When you open it, a shaft with ladders on one side will lead the way deeper into the hidden room known as the igloo cellar in Minecraft.
