Muzan Kibutsuji is a selfish villain in Demon Slayer. He could have easily defeated the Demon Slayer Corps way earlier if he used his brain cells. Blinded by his own ego and god complex, he underestimated Hashira, resulting in his death at the end. He could have invested in other quests rather than finding the Blue Spider Lily.
He may look the smartest in the series but his actions differ from this statement. He is just a child who lives for a thousand years and chases after a flower. The Demon Slayer Corps is really lucky because their greatest enemy literally had the lowest IQ of all time.
The Demon Slayer Corps are the only opponents of Muzan in the series and this guy didn't take them seriously. There were several opportunities to defeat the Demon Slayer Corps. He could approach the Hashiras one by one, be there in the battles, deploy spies among them, and other things. Instead of searching for the Blue Spider Lily all his life, he could have used humans to find it. Someone who is threatened by sunlight should not look for a flower that only blooms in sunlight.
