Kevin Costner almost returned for a sequel to 1992's The Bodyguard with the late Princess Diana, he revealed in a recent interview. The actor, who is currently working on his own franchise, Horizon: An American Saga, thought he could never replace the royal princess in his film after she passed away.

The film also starred Whitney Houston, Gary Kemp, Bill Cobbs and Ralph Waite, to name a few. It was directed by Mick Jackson and became a huge commercial success despite its critical negative reviews.

During his guest appearance on The Howard Stern Show, actor and director Kevin Costner revealed that he was planning to make a sequel to The Bodyguard and that he was about to hire the late Princess Diana.
