Like many animated films in recent years, Netflix and DreamWorks' Orion and the Dark stepped outside the design conventions that had come to define American CG films. The stylistic revolution has really taken off as animators struggle against the clever perfection built into earlier computer animation algorithms. And their desire for more creatively stylized animation has been fueled by the massive success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
