Strong competition from AMD's Ryzen mobile processors has prompted Intel to raise its game in the ultrabook processor market. If new reports are to be believed, the Santa Clara company is gearing up to launch a new series of ultra-low-power processors called Whiskey Lake U, continuing the foundation set by Kaby Lake-R.

These are primarily designed for ultrabooks, budget gaming laptops, and low-powered PCs, but with the performance boost being speculated, we've got some serious processing power.

As revealed by Tum Apisak in a tweet, Intel's 8th generation Whiskey Lake-U processors include the Core i7-8565U, which succeeds the Kaby Lake-R Core i7-8550U, and the Core i5-8265U, the successor to the Core i5-8250U.
