From being called the vanilla Android UI to becoming one of the unique and feature-rich Android UIs, Nothing OS has come a long way. Nothing OS 2.5 (Review) based on Android 14 was one of the biggest and best Android OS releases of 2023, and that makes us excited for Nothing OS 3.0, which is coming later this year. Fortunately, Nothing's founder Carl Pei has already revealed a few tidbits about the user interface and the direction it's headed. So here's everything we know about Nothing OS 3.0 so far.
Nothing Phone 3: Expected Release Date, Specs, Features and Design
The last major Nothing OS version, Nothing OS 2.5, first came to the phone (2) last December, about two months after the stable Android 14 release.
Now we know that Google will officially release Android 15 alongside the Pixel 9 series in August, so if we go by the same timeline as OS 2.5, we expect Nothing OS 3.0 based on Android 15 to arrive sometime in October.
In fact, Nothing released Android 15 Developer Preview Beta 1 for phone (2) and (2a) back in May, and we might hear more about the next beta in a few weeks. Nothing is usually quick to push out new Android updates so this assumption shouldn't be a far-fetched reality, at least not if the company is planning a major UI overhaul and adding tons of features that could take a lot of time and testing.
