The CW's Arrowverse earned a reputation for being low-budget, and nothing embodies this more than Supergirl. The series has a lot going for her. It had an excellent actress in a leading role; it adapted the story of a very versatile character and just needed to make sure to execute it well. However, the series took a very drastic turn and became a cautionary tale of what can go wrong when making a show.
The dialogue became known for being clunky. The acting dropped drastically in quality, making the show difficult to watch, and most famously, its visual effects were almost laughably awful. Since its cancellation, it has stayed out of public conversation. Although the subject of its painful fall from grace is brought up again and again.
