Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren's roles in 1923 could not have been played by better actors, in retrospect. But during the casting process, Sheridan stunned Hollywood into silence by pulling two of the biggest A-list names. However, it seems that the calculated move did not play out in vain.
Say what you can about Taylor Sheridan's fake cowboy-land fantasy (despite his claims he didn't grow up on a ranch, his father was a cardiologist), it's still impossible to overlook the Yellowstone creator's mastery of dialogue. What Sheridan could not achieve in his acting career, he delivered a hundredfold with his ability to craft Oscar-worthy screenplays.
