Last year, the OnePlus Open became official as the brand's very first foldable in Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black color options. Now the folding flagship has received an Apex Edition that sprinkles some Crimson Shadow tones on it. This new color option also brings a couple of new additions to the phone. The main and obvious difference lies in the color option itself, with a crimson hue enveloping the foldable this time around. The leather back is all crimson, but the metal frame is silver, much like the black variant.
You can also see the crimson hue bleed into the bumps and edges of the camera module, staying true to its character. In comparison, the Emerald Dusk color variant has emerald hues on the frame as well, which you don't see happening here. The cover included with the case also gets those red hues, which is another thing to note.
Additionally, the alert slider has an orange accent this time around and is also supported by a dedicated VIP mode for added privacy. This new mode lets you use the alert slider to also turn off the collapsible microphone, camera, notifications, and the like.
