Catching Pals is good, but breeding them is better

NEW Palworld Patch CHANGED BREEDING! ALL secret changes found (Palworld Update 1.5)

A player can find plenty of cute or capable mates on a tour through Palworld's Palpagos Islands, but to fill out their Paldeck they have to dabble in breeding. Breeding is a surprisingly deep part of Palworld, and it has quickly become a rabbit hole – or a Caprity hole, if you will – for my group on our shared server.

Once I got past the original hook of "Think about survival games, but Pokemon?" in Palworld I was surprised that I was still engaged. I'm on a server with my friends, and we all manage different roles. I pump up my payload and bring friends to help pull, and I'm constantly loading up with tons of ore to melt into valuable ingots. My buddies Jake and Matt pitch in too; Jake is a forward scout, while Matt runs what we politely call "Pal Resources".

Pal Resources is the name of our breeding camp. Now that we have the opportunity to build ranches and bake delicious cookies, Matt is off to the races. It is quite possible to just casually engage in breeding, but we are now completely absorbed in the process. There are three main reasons to breed. The first is that by combining two seemingly unrelated Pals, a third Pal can be born. If you want to fill out your Paldeck and be a true collector, breeding is basically mandatory.
