The Indus Appstore, according to PhonePe, will help create a new way for app developers to attract Android users in India who are currently dependent on the Play Store. For this there are a number of attractions as well. For starters, there will be no charge for in-app purchases, which otherwise go up to 30% in the case of the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.

Second, the Indus Appstore will not charge developers to list their apps for the first year. This will be charged thereafter, but developers will have to pay a nominal fee. But there's no word on the details right now.

Developers will also get to list their apps in 12 Indian languages apart from English and will also get an India-based support team to facilitate timely resolution of their queries. In addition, there will be real-time analytics and AI-powered real-time monitoring of important details. For new apps, PhonePe has Launch Pad for better discoverability. For users, there will be timely and faster app updates.
