Incredibles 3 (2026) Teaser Announcement – Pixar & Disney D23 Expo
Future Toy Story movies are all but inevitable at this point — Toy Story 5 is slated for June 19, 2026, by the way — but here's one Pixar sequel we should have seen coming: The Incredibles 3, revealed to be in development as of D23 Expo.
Pixar is the rare studio under the Disney banner that maintains a tight balance between original and franchise storytelling. The creative spark from the 3D CG animation outfit's heyday lives on in new films like Soul, Turning Red, Luca and the upcoming Hoppers, making exercises like Toy Story 4, Lightyear and (the admittedly very good) Inside Out 2 all the easier to pass . But Inside Out 2 still made a billion dollars to become the highest grossing animated film of all time so… Pixar will make sequels.
Last February, Disney CEO Bob Iger confessed to shareholders of The Walt Disney Company that he wasn't going to sit there and let his studios get too original, especially with the conglomerate's finances in a slump — the future would be littered with sequels. Toy Story, Zootopia and Frozen would all receive new installments in the coming years. So you can understand how Pixar came up with Incredibles 3.
