Sony's Summer Sale has kicked off with some serious hardware and software savings across its catalog. One of the biggest discounts, however, is for its PlayStation 2 VR headset, which is $349.99 this week (was $549.99) — a savings of more than 37% off the regular price. The deal applies not only to the PlayStation Store, but also to Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart. GameStop is also selling a PSVR 2 bundle with Horizon: Call of the Mountain for $399.99 (was $599.99).

While the future of PSVR 2 as a platform is still a bit unclear – according to reports Sony has cut results for all but two upcoming titles – the company is in the process of making the headset compatible with Windows PCs. Just last week, Sony launched a PSVR 2 Steam app to enable support, and the necessary PSVR 2 PC adapter will arrive on August 7th for $59.99. Note that the PSVR 2 discount may only be valid until August 5 when Sony's summer sale ends, so if you're looking to get this as a new PC VR headset — at around $350, the PSVR 2 is $150 cheaper than Meta Mission 3 — you have to wait several days before trying it.
