According to reports, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions are plummeting, hitting some of the lowest player numbers this year. This decline coincides with the addition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to Xbox Game Pass, which has really taken numbers from the PS to the Xbox side of the console wars.

Despite the addition of popular titles like Remnant 2, July 2024 turned out to be an abysmal month for PlayStation.

Sony's decision to raise prices for Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions has driven many gamers away from the service. While notable games like Remnant 2 and Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion came to the service in July 2024, the service saw a drastic drop in player numbers, losing 48.67% compared to June.
