Qualcomm is launching its second smartphone platform within a week, in this case an extension of its Snapdragon 7 series for high-end devices built at a lower price point than premium flagship smartphones.
Introducing the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 mobile platform
The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is, according to the Qualcomm brand, a step up in features from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 that was introduced late last year and is billed as the "most powerful Snapdragon 7 series yet."
That inevitably means it has on-device generative AI features that US circuits and telecoms offer across their smartphone platforms, but also a boost in both CPU and GPU performance, plus Wi-Fi 7 support.
"Today, we're launching the latest expansion in the 7 Series to create new levels of entertainment for consumers—by integrating next-generation technologies for richer experiences," Qualcomm SVP of mobile phones Chris Patrick said in a statement.
