Sofia Boutella plays the role of Kora, the main character in Rebel Moon. She is a former soldier of the Imperium who will stand against them to protect her village. Charlie Hunnam joins actor Rebel Moon in the role of Kai. He is a mercenary pilot who is also an ally of Kora and will aid her in her quest to gather her team of warriors. From the looks of the trailer, it seems that along with being a pilot, he's also a fierce combatant who we'll see fighting alongside Rebel Moon's lead.

Moving on, we have Gunnar, played by Michiel Huisman. He is a farmer who is cut off from everything else that happens outside of his village in the far corner of the galaxy. However, after he joins Kora in her quest, there is the possibility of a serious character arc as the character of Gunnar in the Rebel Moon Saga develops.
