Characters and actors like Robert Downey Jr./Iron Man, Chris Evans/Captain America are seen as irreplaceable today by many MCU enthusiasts. But that doesn't mean the billion-dollar franchise has stayed away from retooling, and fans haven't always appreciated those decisions.

Ford stars as General Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, a character previously portrayed by the late William Hurt in several Marvel films. Despite Hurt's legacy and brilliant portrayal of the character, Ford's casting has been swift and fans appreciate the choice.
