Don't Nod's tale of two wandering exorcists in the New World strikes a rich thematic vein

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Review

The extermination of ghosts and demons is a classic plot premise. From Ghostbusters to The Exorcist, stories of heroes freeing people or places from ghosts provide a strong canvas for a range of human experiences. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is not only a great example of this genre, but one of the best written, most visually exciting and impactful I've ever come across.

The latest game from Don't Nod, the original creators of Life is Strange, Banishers is set in 1695 in the New World, and follows two lovers who are both wandering exorcists, or "banishers". Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith have sworn to deal with "secrets", to banish ghosts and demons from harming the living.
