For weeks, we've been hearing rumors about Nvidia's plans to launch a new entry-level graphics card in the sub-$200 price segment. Some of the leaks pointed to the RTX 3050 being released in early January. Now the key specifications of the upcoming RTX 3050 6GB have surfaced, along with price and availability speculation.

RTX 3050 6GB needs a full discussion…

The company is strongly expected to offer its new RTX 3050 variant at a super aggressive price. This is to drive more gamers towards upgrading to RTX GPUs, which have RT cores, Tensor cores and several modern architectural advantages.

Speaking of the leaked specs, courtesy of Videocardz's sources, the VRAM capacity and memory bandwidth of the 6GB RTX 3050 gets a major downgrade. The RTX 3050 has 6 GB of VRAM and 168 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Both are 25% lower compared to the previous 8GB model. Power consumption is much lower at 70 watts. Thanks to its efficiency, the RTX 3050 6GB could prove to be a great budget GPU for upgrading older desktop systems.
