At the 2024 Academy Awards, Ryan Gosling took the stage with everyone from Simu Liu to Slash to perform "I'm Just Ken" — one of Barbie's breakout (and award-nominated) songs.
In the movie, "I'm Just Ken" is a super loud number, as the Kens react for an inter-Ken world and basically represent their idea of the patriarchy breaking down. The Kens rally to battle each other with sports equipment and hobby horses, a grand musical manifestation of their toxic masculinity. Eventually, Gosling's Ken and Simu Liu's Ken chest bump and the sequence merges into a dream ballet, with Ken's two factions having an aggressive dance.
