German prosecutors have confirmed to The Register that SAP's outgoing CTO is under investigation following allegations of sexual harassment.

Earlier this month, German software giant HQ'd announced that Jürgen Müller would be leaving the company by mutual consent on September 30 following an "incident" at a company event. In a statement, Muller admitted that his "behaviour was inappropriate", said he regretted being "inept" and apologized.
At the time, SAP declined to release further details.
Late last week, the prosecutor's office in Heidelberg and the police headquarters in Mannheim issued a statement saying that an investigation had been opened against a former head of a major software company based in the Rhein-Neckar district on suspicion of sexual harassment.
