Cybersecurity awareness and training provider KnowBe4 hired a fake North Korean IT worker for a software engineering role on its AI team and only realized its mistake when the guy started using his company computer for evil.

KnowBe4 acknowledged the hiring in a disclosure Tuesday from CEO Stu Sjouwerman. He explained that his HR team conducted four video interviews with the candidate, confirmed that his appearance matched a photo included in a job application and conducted background checks.
All went well, the forger was hired and a Mac was sent so he could get to work.
That's when the problems started.
