Ubisoft borrowed a gameplay mechanic from Assassin's Creed that made sense in Star Wars Outlaws.

Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming open world game set in a galaxy far, far away, featuring a new cast of characters and familiar environments. The gaming community has been asking for an open-world Star Wars game, and Massive Entertainment has stepped up to fill the void with an original story.

The developers aimed to provide a different perspective never seen or handled in other Star Wars projects set during the Skywalker Saga and to let the gaming community feel the galactic civil war firsthand. Other popular game mechanics and features from other franchises will appear throughout the story.

Massive Entertainment created an original story set in the Star Wars universe without focusing on the Force, Jedi, Sith or other major factions that the franchise was known for.
