The game has "far surpassed" the sales of any game in the publisher's history

Is this MASSIVE price spike good for Star Wars Unlimited?

Fantasy Flight Games was founded in 1995 on the shoulders of a single board game called Twilight Imperium, an epic space opera with space cats and peace turtles. But as of this week, the Minnesota-based company's biggest success is courtesy of a slightly more conventional space opera — the fan favorite Star Wars.

The Star Wars: Unlimited card game, barely a week old at this point, is a smash hit. In a statement on social media, the publisher said it had "already outsold any game we've ever released." But like its competitor, Disney Lorcana, that means cards are in short supply. That has encouraged speculators, who are driving up prices on the secondary market, but not nearly to the extent that Ravensburger's play suffered.

On Wednesday on social media, the publisher announced plans to mitigate the problem anyway. According to Fantasy Flight's statement, it was always assumed that the launch product would end, just not this soon. So the strategy they had devised for this inevitability is set in motion a few weeks earlier.
