The Steam hardware survey has finally revealed the dominance of the latest generation of GPUs. The Nvidia RTX 40 series and AMD Radeon RX 7000 series have made their mark, with the RTX 4090 emerging as the best-selling next-gen GPU, with a surprising 0.23% share of total users.
However, the picture is far from clear, as the latest release, the RTX 4070 Ti, has just made its debut with a share of 0.10%. It is likely that this figure will change in the coming weeks.
Competition from AMD is heating up and the Radeon RX 7900 series is asserting itself with a 0.07% share on Windows systems. However, it is difficult to determine which specific model, RX 7900 XTX or XT, is preferred by gamers, as the Steam survey does not distinguish between the two.
