Still Wakes the Deep is an incredible game that deserves your undivided attention.

Can You Survive a Nuclear Winter (and Other Nuclear Stories)

Still Wake the Deep is a game no one saw coming in 2024. It's a beautifully spun Lovecraft tale mixed with the horror of 1982's The Thing and some Ken Loach magic thrown in for good measure. Simply put, it's one of the best horror games and one of the best games overall this year.

Now, seeing what developer The Chinese Room was able to accomplish with the game, the player base seems ready for them to step up and create their rendition of the worst nuclear disaster in the history of our civilization. To be honest, if any developer can pull off the horror of the Chernobyl incident, it's really only them.

In our review of the game, one of our main points of praise was the development team's effort to make the setting, the oil rig taken over by some incomprehensible creature, feel like a living character playing its part in the story.
