Returning to modern warfare with Sledgehammer Games | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
Sledgehammer Games is facing heavy criticism from Call of Duty fans for not keeping their promises about the Modern Warfare 3 maps. Back in October 2023, right before the game's launch, Sledgehammer stated that fan-favorite maps from previous Call of Duty titles would be added in the post-launch seasons.
This got many fans hyped, especially those who were nostalgic for the classic maps from previous games. But the reality has been completely different, and the promise has not been lived up to.
Despite Sledgehammer's promise to include at least three 6v6 maps in both Season 1 and Season 2, only a few classic maps have been added, and most of them are neither classic nor fan favorites. As of Season 5, many fans are feeling disappointed as the beloved maps from 2014's Advanced Warfare and 2017's World War II have not returned.
